Meet Ann Gentry, owner of Real Food Daily!

Ann Gentry of Real Food Daily

Need to eat more vegetables? I know the perfect place. With four locations in Los Angeles, Real Food Daily is an organic plant-based restaurant. On a recent night, I enjoyed a very colorful, fiber-filled Southwest salad and shared a decadent, delicious chocolate fudge cake for dessert. http://www.realfood.com I can’t wait to visit all of the restaurants soon.

Before dinner, I had the pleasure of meeting Ann Gentry, the creator and owner of RFD. Ann’s favorite food this spring is chia seeds! Go chia seeds. These tiny little seeds are excellent sources of fiber and omega 3 fatty acids. For physical activity she enjoys walking and yoga. Ann is a very gracious, talented and accomplished woman. She is truly an inspiration.

I Can't Lose Weight

Have you ever whispered to yourself that you shouldn’t be eating something? But you eat it anyway?
That’s probably the reason why you can’t lose weight. A few extra bites of food throughout the day can sabotage your weight loss efforts. FACT: It’s a lot easier to gain weight than lose it – and more fun, also.
REALITY: It not impossible to lose weight. It may not be as easy as you would like. Try these tips to get back on track.

  • WATCH YOUR PORTION SIZES. Portion sizes are outrageous these days. Go back to the 50s. Obesity rates were much smaller, and the portions were reasonable.
  • Eat on a salad plate. If you have extra weight, you may not be eating much, but it is more than you need.
  • Only eat if you are hungry. Don’t eat because someone from work brought in pastries. Don’t eat just because you walk by a co-workers desk, and they have a candy dish. If you eat because you are stressed, depressed, or bored, check out Day 4 of The Food Is My Friend Diet. Food doesn’t solve problems.

Next time you want to eat too much of something that you know you shouldn’t, tell yourself: “I don’t need food to feel good. I love me.”
